I am hoping that any of you folks that own a Seth Thomas Regulator Number 2 might be able to tell me the weight, diameter and length of the single weight as issued back in the day for this model. Assuming that I don't have the correct weight in the jumble in my hobby shop (and boy do I have a lot of weights!) I will be looking for one if anyone has a spare or has seen one on Ebay or elsewhere. Many thanks, - Bill
Good thing about a No.2 is that you can find just about any replacement parts you need at TimeSavers, eBay, etc.
o.k. Dave T. from the great state of North Carolina tells us that the Seth Thomas Regulator No. 2 weight (time only) is 1.75 inch diameter and 6 inches long and weighs in at 6 pounds. Timesavers shows a "Vienna Weights - Lead Filled" part number 22858 (page 98) with those exact dimensions. However, above it in the same column under "Clock Parts: Weights & Related" they show "Weight Assemblies - Seth Thomas and Garfield" with the time only weight being 2.25 diameter x 4 5/8 long weighing in at 6 3/4 lbs. Based on what Dave T. says I am thinking about ordering the Vienna weight p/n 22858 and I just want to get a possible second opinion or verification that this is the correct spec. before I plunk down the money. Wow! This is a heavy clock ... holy moly! - Bill in Northern California
I'm terribly sorry Kevin W. Dave T. originally said 5.5 lbs too. I typed it wrong. Jeez I need new glasses. So I guess I'll go ahead and order the Timesavers p/n 22858 Many thanks, - Bill in Northern California
