Hello,

The clock appears to be a Seth Thomas - Rio. It was originality introduced in 1090.

It is 8 day time/strike/alarm. It appears complete unfortunately it is difficult to see details from the photographs to assess its condition.

Thanks Andy for identifying the clock....I had no idea about its name so it helps a lot as you have given me a name to further research about it ...the paper label though not clear in the picture but it appears the clock to be around 1880-90s i presume..... any further info is welcome....

appreciate your response !!

Hello,

I incorrectly typed the date; it was introduced 1909, so it is much later than you believed....

Well, it seems to have been around before 1909. Tran Duy Ly's 3d ed. of his book on Seth Thomas Clocks shoes it from the 1904 catalogue (vol. 1, p. 367, fig. 1201). For all I know, it was around even earlier, but I have no documentation to that effect.

appreciate the comments....it really helps in gaining information about the clock

thanks Jim,Andy and Steven !

I agree with steven as the paper label seems to be of an year before 1904...as I have a seth thomas of 1905 (will share pics later) with a paper label which is not the same as in this RIO......
