So, I did it. I removed the 1970's frosted glass / red poppy lower tablet painting and mirrored the lower wavy glass with a mirroring kit from Angelgilding. My question is does this look authentic or did I miss? It's definitely old glass and likely original to the clock. My knowledge of original OG clocks with mirrored tablets is severely limited. Did they use a better grade of glass for mirrored tablets, or would they have used regular wavy standard glass? Ca. 1862 Seth Thomas. I guess I achieved what I was looking for, but if it ain't right, I may go in another direction. Some of you must have an original to compare mine to. An alternative would be to use a modern reproduction of an old tablet design.

While I can’t offer you any verification on it authenticity, I think the wavy glass mirror is very attractive. Gives it character.
