Hi to everyone on this site, I have a Seth Thomas World (long Drop) Movement (85E) that requires a new escape wheel.
Does anyone know if the Seth Thomas No2 regulator clock escape wheel is the same as used on the Seth Thomas World model, the reason I ask is that I can obtain a No2 Escape wheel quite cheaply and if it will do the job it could save me a lot of work.

Have you tried measuring and counting teeth?

according to tran, the 85E escape wheel ('crown') has the same 40 teeth as the ST2, 'center 1/18"'. the 61 movement (older ST2s) is 40 teeth, 'center 1"'... so that one would NOT work. he does not go into detail for the 77a or 77b movements.

    so...

    short answer: no.

longer answer: escape wheel and anchor need to be matched to one another. you'll need to find a donor movement on eBay or roll your own (or have one of the people here make one for you).
