Can anyone tell me about this clock? Its a mini grandfather clock with a Seth Thomas windup movement..I was told it was 100 years old and I'd like to know what type of fake weights these are and what should the pendulum look like. Maybe its origin or did someone just put it together? Its about 18" tall
Thanks as always for your help. Nancy

Here and there

It has a German alarm clock movement, so It's probably no more than about 60 years old and could much newer than that. The movement states Germany instead of West Germany; some might thus conclude it is 1990 or later, but the way the country is designated is no sure bet of its age. The weights I'm not sure about; they look like some sort of novelty coins with the head of possibly Mercury on them. I did not find this in Tran's Seth Thomas book, but that was no surprise. Perhaps others can tell you more.
