All the parts seem to be there but needs a good cleaning for a start. DSCN8937.jpg DSCN8935.jpg DSCN8936.jpg DSCN8934.jpg DSCN8938.jpg DSCN8939.jpg DSCN8940.jpg DSCN8937.jpg

Kees. Your Seth Thomas Ogee clock has Thomaston as the location where the movement was made. Movements made before about 1865 are stamped "Plymouth Hollow."

The passing of Seth Thomas caused the community to rename the town in his honor.

Additional facts about dating these older clocks comes from the name and address of the label printer. If your label still has a remnant below the lower border, it may have the name and address of the printer. Old business directories provide a good reference to the year the label was printed. Valid lists of the various label printers exist. Who printed the label on your clock?

"Press of the Americane Printing C...mpany, Bank street, Waterbury, Conn."

The number refers to the pendulum length, mostly used in the factory to make sure the correct movement goes with the clock size. Have a good look on the backboard to see if there was any stampings. This model of clock had a very long production run, pretty much right to the end of the 1800's. So dating it isn't easy.
