Hey! New guy here.....and my first clock (first not-modern clock).

My 85 yr old mom said that this clock annoyed her for the entire time it was in their 2 bed, 1 bath house...as a child. The loud ticking was too much for her. Nevertheless, it was an ever present part of her pre-college life.

When we'd visit my grandparents in that small Hollywood, Fl house, I remember my grandfather occasionally winding it....early 1970's.

It has been in my Aunt's closet since my grandparents died (1980's.... both in their 80's), but it seems to run fine. Amazingly, it seems to have the original key and all. The bottom hatch is open in the photo, but it closes nicely.

I'm wondering when this thing was made. I can't wait to tell my mom and her sister. I'm fairly sure it is pre-1930's based on their information.
