My daughter gave me a Sessions 3W shelf clock she found at a flea market for $5. It is my only electric clock so far.

It has an attractive dial, a sweep second hand and is auto start, made in the late 1930s I think and sold in Canada. The case was in rough shape, the hands had come off and the electrical plug was missing. I sourced a new plug, reconnected the hands and refinished the case.

Though it runs well and keeps excellent time the case feels a little warm but not overly so. Are there challenges to fixing a synchronous motor (I am guessing that is the kind of motor it has) if it fails?

I'll try to get a shot of the motor.
