• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Here is a photo of a Sessions Regulator I have in for repair. The indicator on the bottom is homemade, but overall it looks to be original, a couple of questions about the movement come to mind.

The Clock:

The Movement:

While cleaning/repairing the movement, I found that the front plate was struck on both sides with:
Sessions Clock
Company
Forestville Conn
USA

Also, on the inside of the front plate there appeared to be "oil sink holes".

Is anyone familar with this movement? Why would there be two running springs?

I cannot remember the name of the Regulator but it came two ways...One like yours with double spring time only and the other with double weight, time only.
Ansonia also made some double spring time only mvts as did Seth Thomas. I believe that this is an 8 day clock in spite of the two springs. I have had each model in the past.
Welch had the same movement in some clocks and it probably carried over to Sessions when the name changed.

I would presume this is the Regulator # 3, which has an 8-day time only spring movement. Its twin is the Regulator # 5, which has an 8-day weight time only movement. The # 5 apparently came in oak or mahogany; the # 3 in oak. Both ca. 1910.
