I picked up a stack (7 drawers) of Bulova parts and a Watchmaster 700, and feel compelled to learn as much as I can about the various Accutron watches. I've managed to get a 218 working, and am now staring at a 219 (2193.10). Unlike the 218, I can't seem to find any documentation on the internet though. I also have a couple of Accuquartz (took a while before I realized they weren't just more Accutrons). Anyone know of a location (or have handy) any service manuals for either of these?

I have the 219 manual in pdf form. If you pm me, I can email it to you.

What is the caliber of the Accuquartz you're interested in?
You may be able to find the Accuquartz manuals here: http://www.cousinsuk.com/ Just type in the caliber number you're looking for in the search field, click "search" then on the next page, click the tab "document matches" underneath the search field. or click here to search by manufacturer (this is nowhere near as fast) http://www.cousinsuk.com/document/category/4.aspx

I believe that I have the 224 manual that I can scan for you. (It will probably be Tuesday, since I just got another grandchild yesterday :)) Although they're similar to the 218's, there are differences, such as regulating them.

It's also important to note that they are "Accuquartz", which is very different from the "Accutron Quartz".

Thanks Samantha, I'd appreciate that when you have the time! Yeah, I'm quite interested in taking one of these apart; they're one of the more interesting quartz variants (even if not the most practical). And they're quite thick compared to the Accutrons!

Congrats on the grandchild, btw.

Thank you! If you can work on a 218, you'll be able to do a 224. We used to see quite a few of them at the Bulova Service Center back in the 70's - 80's.

Hello:

I have the Bulova Technical Bulletin for the Series 224 in digital form already and will send it to AbslomRob should he care to have it. In this document there is also a reference to the 218 manual which I also have in digital form. If AbslomRob would care to have either or both just send a PM to me which includes your Email address and I will send it to you.

I certainly do not want to upstage Samantha, but if this is a help to her while she is busy with new Grandmother duties I will send it out.

Regards

cburnette,
By all means, feel free to provide it to him. I appreciate you doing that, as I would need to scan it first. Thank you for offering to help me out! :)
