    Shelf Clock, c. 1855, The Year Clock Company. 8-day Torsion Pendulum shelf clock with three ball pendulum "bob". Movement was patented by Aaron. D. Crane. Count and escapement wheels are identical. Weights not separated from movement by partition boards. The pendulum suspension bracket is integral to the movement being riveted to the back plate. Label reads "Patent Eight Day Clocks. Manufactured by The Year Clock Company, 35 Cortlandt Stree, New-York." Dial by James R Mills & Company. Bevelled case design with frosted and etched glass design on lower door. Reference: Aaron Dodd Crane: An American Original by Frederick Shelley, Bulletin Supplement 16, Summer 1987, pages 71-74.
