Thanks for your reply and information. I would like a copy for my library as I have a great interest in early English watches.

Success finally after advertising, listing and writing anyone who could possibly have helped me locate this book. A fine gentleman of the NAWCC had a duplicate and now I am a very happy man.

Thanks to all here and abroad who offered assistance on a location of a copy of the TT 300 year book. Your efforts were greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Members, remember to use the wanted section here on the association forum; it ultimately provided success.

Horological Ulysses (Thomas Tompion 300 yrs book) arrived today

This incredible book arrived today in good order all 664 pages (inc photos).

Rivaling the great Henry Chapman's magus opus catalogue of the John Story Jenks sale of Dec. 7-17,1921, 692 pages, 42 separate pages of full plate photos, and of similar size; and, my copy the James Joyce's Ulysses book, 1084 pages, no photos but less than 2.25 diameter in size printed on thin non glossy stock. The Thomas Tompion 300 years book is a true monster (I have yet to weigh it, but certainly it is the heaviest of all). It is now one of my favorites but have not as yet begun reading the prose--too busy looking at photos. (Not a book for bedtime--too large and heavy!)

I stopped looking at it to write this, and I can say that the TT 300 years book is a must for all serious horologists--the book quality is great and the photos are magnificent of incredible English watches and clocks. I finally secured a copy thanks to the kindness of Rich Newman. Printed in 2013 with only 750 copies, plus an unknown number of specially bound library copies, it must have sold out very fast. After searching, asking and hunting the US and UK for 9 months Rich came to the front for me. It was worth the wait.

Now, back to Thomas Tompion 300 years!
