    Hi Guys, I'm sure I'm missing something here but in the past I could easily search the archives for information but now I cannot find a search click on the any forum pages. What am I missing? thanks for any help with this.

    "More" gives you the search options you want.

    and, you can use google for power searching... just add:

    site:mb.nawccorg

    to your search params, i.e.:

    thtanner magnifying glass site:mb.nawcc.org

    (i would have used your user name in the example but it’s not quite as unique a search string! :cool: )

    ps: you would do your search from google.com and not the MB

    =======================

    I tend to not use Google for this because as soon as you do - everything from Facebook, to email, to other google searches, to Yahoo, will be bombarded with links and ads related in all sorts of good and irrelevant ways to what you searched for

    Google is just too intrusive

    Under the FORUMS tab at the top of each page is a search function. You can use it too. Also in the sticky's at the top of the forum is a tutorial on using Google to search only our site. That eliminates a lot of junk hits, and is a better search engine than what we have.

    yes - you will get the proper results during the search - my problem is that afterward I will continue to get related results presented on web pages and in junk mail - this is not unique to using google on the MB - it is what google does in general to raise money - they sell what you search for to other sites that then use that information to present their own ads

    yeah, but ads are a thing... i've trained myself to either ignore them (web pages) or look away (i.e., at the start of youtube videos).

    i'm just advocating using google when you need a power tool search... for example, i sometimes use it to find something i posted (or someone's response) from a few years ago, when i can't remember what the thread was called, or who said what.

    your mileage may vary! :cool:

    I have a great add blocker. You can try adding one or two of them to your browser. Look for 'add on's'

    i have tried some ad blockers - but the purveyors are getting wise to them - I started getting pop ups that said - "We have detected an ad blocker on your computer - disable the blocker to see the content" - but I do like ad blockers in general
