• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Does anyone have a Schmeckenbecher movement that takes a 64cm pendulum? That measurement is from the suspension arm pin to the last thread. The bob is 31/8". The pendulum rod length from the hook to the last thread is 53cm. It doesn't have to be working but it must be repairable. Please contact me as soon as possible if you have one to sell. Thank you. Just wondering if anyone is still looking to see if they have one of these to sell. Thanks, Danny

There's one on ebay too, for too much $$ -- with "make an offer".

I have one that is in a box in my shop. I will look tomorrow and see if it is the 64 cm. Movement.
Thanks, Will. I'm trying to get this customer's clock to look exactly as it did with all of the same parts, save the movement. It's trashed. The plastic parts in her movement are beyond repair. Danny

Was that a movement only for sale or a clock with that movement in it? Thanks, Danny
Looked like movement only. Search for:

Emil Schmeckenbecher 2 Weight Driven Clock Movement for Repair/Restoration Only

Not sure it's the exact model you need, but...?

Does anybody recognize this movement? I can't make out the stamping on it. I was wondering if it gave a pendulum length. Thanks, Danny

Did Emil Schmeckenbecher actually produce movements? I seem to see a lot of Schmeckenbecher clocks with Regula 25 movements.

Sorry, but I'm the wrong person to ask - especially if you need a correct answer.. Perhaps someone will come along that recognizes the clock in the earlier post and can help with the pendulum length.

I have that movement in one of my clocks. It does say Emil Schmeckenbecher. Is this the same movement? Do you need the one you have pictured?

Frank, thank you for looking for me. That is very similar to the movement I got as a replacement. Do you know what the pendulum length is for that movement? Do you have the pendulum? Thanks again, Danny

Around 15" or 37-38cm. Are you getting rid of that one? I could always use the chainwheels if you're junking it.

No, I'm trying to get the same pendulum length for the customer's clock and restore the clock I bought to Frankenstein.
The one pictured in post #1 will be here Monday but I'm not positive what the P-length is. If it's at least 52 cm I'm going to see if the customer will accept that as close enough. Thanks, Danny

52cm in pretty long.
That's just about 20.5" The one that was in the Grandmother's clock case was 64cm. Not really long enough for the case but that is what the customer remembers and I want it to be as close as I can get to that. Hopefully, this movement coming will be 64cm and I can restore the Wag- on the- wall clock that I was going to rob. I really like it.
Thanks, Frank. Have a great evening, Danny
