Anyone know anything about a typical Seth Thomas chimer, round top mantle, that has a heavy solid brass case? The interior is a wood structure for the bells and mvts. to attach but everything that shows from the outside is smooth brass.

    Thanks, Willie X

    Willie,
I've seen them before and they are in Ly's ST book. I don't have my book handy so I can't tell you the page number.
I have a Sonora in a huge bronze case that is similar to the brass clocks.

    Hello,
See Tran's 1996 Seth Thomas book, pages 213 and 217. Also, online, search for Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide, then search the site for Seth Thomas bronze sonora and the first one shown is a bronze.
    Cordially,
    Carl

I saw one. An older man had a clock booth at a mall in Houston. He was selling out about 2010 He had a Sonora in a brass or bronze case. I think the case (a tambour style) was about 2 1/2-3 feet wide. There is no telling how much it weighed.
