Hi Burt,

Being a new member, I have just ventured into this thread, purely because of the reference to Septimus Miles. I have a Bracket Clock by him, with the clock signed on the dial and movement, "Miles, Ludgate Street, London", presumablycmade by him in the date range 1794 - 1825. I just mention this to identify the different form of dial signature: 'Miles' as opposed to 'S Miles' I have only seen one other example of his work.
Also, my historical research places Miles at 16 Great Carter Lane, Doctor's Common from 1835 - 1847.
Anyway, I am glad that you resolved your dilemma and are now the proud owner of a Septimus Miles Masterpiece :)
