Hello, I have an envelope with a crown and other small items. written on it is:

Rolex Tudor oyster prince 34 390
Crown only. It looks like gold but how would one tell what it is. It does have the R and a bar under it. Thank you.

Proper Rolex crowns had the crown on them.

Thank you. I opened the little envelope and this is what it contained.

All looks genuine. Stem looks to be from the ETA 2412.

Thank you for time. How can I determine whether it is plated gold or solid 14k or 18 k gold. On eBay, I see this information all the time and I do not how that determination is done.

You can see for yourrself that most of the crown isn't actually gold. It may have a gold cap on it. This is possible but there won't be much gold in it.

Thank you again for the additional information. It was not the amount of gold that I was interested in but how to determine the quality. Does the manufacture identify what it is? I have looked closely at some I have from new to very old and can not tell the difference.
