    Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Rockford Model 1 16s movement in pieces. The guy said it was all there except for the mainspring and it was except for a few small things. I bought it thinking it would be a nice project. My question is if anyone could point me in the right direction for finding a case for it. I understand that it needs a thicker case than normal.

You understand correctly. Illinois and Elgin also made these mvts. that needed a thicker case. The route would be to look for a lower grade Elgin convertible or a Illinois model 1, 2, or 3 in lower grade. Be aware that these mentioned mvts. were also made a high grade. Many of these high grade were cased in gold, and these cases have been scrapped, thus creating a need for these lower grade watches to replace the gold ones lost. Good luck on your search.
