I am preparing a presentation on select Rockford watches and trying to find out how many model 3 movements were produced with the '15R' stamp. Does anyone have a count for these? Greg? Thanks, Darrah Here is a pic from my presentation showing the models 2,3,4 and 6.
Darrah, I'll dig out some s/ns and report them. As you know, there have been a number of the 15R mvts (in all models) offered for sale recently, especially ones from the Dean Olson collection, but I haven't been keeping close track of these. Greg
Here are the nos. that were handy. I've included ones for all the various models. Some of this data was collected by Roger Weiss. Model 2, "15 Ruby", nickel 58601, 58604, 58626, 58686 Model 2, "15 R", nickel 58675, 58702, 107913, 107924 Model 2, "15 R, GILT 101999 Model 3, "15 R", nickel 58761, 107830, 107867, 241814, 241827, 241840, 241848, 241851, 241883 Model 3, "17 R", two-tone 241902, 241986, 241990 Model 4, "15 R", nickel 194617, 194668, 194669 Model 6, "15 R", nickel 196704, 726, 736, 764, 850, 901, 915, 948, 950, 960, 980 199203, 206, 236, 264, 267, 280, 289, 291, 303, 370, 379, 383 Scarce variant of model 6 has gold bushing on upper barrel arbor.
Thanks for the info Keith and will store it away. I have reasonable totals for all of the models (above) except for model 3 that appears to be found in the 58xxx, 1078xx and 2418xx ranges which might suggest about 200 more or less.
Oops, Darrah, I just noticed Greg already had mine down. I was thinking, dang Greg's got a pile of them! Thanks Keith R...
Darrah, I think that the model 6 15 R mvts with gold bushed barrel arbors are an important variant. S/ns of those that I'v seen include 196915, 196950 and 196980. There is the number of another around here somewhere and I will report when it turns up. Anyway, good luck with your presentation. These are spectacular and very under appreciated movements. Greg
