Allan, the pdf file you attached above is Barraud material, and quite interesting, I might add.

It references several items from my Barraud collection site, but is not complete. In addition, I have a fairly large number of items that have not been added to the site because I am in the process of renovating and moving it. The current material is best found at http://awco.org/European/Barraud/barraud.htm. There is also a presentation on Barraud in the list of presentations at http://mcintyre.com/present.

Perhaps we should explore and solicit more Barraud information in another thread.

    Hi Tom,
Two things, I am still trying to get the hang of this program, I downloaded the Barraud by mistake, and believe or not I cannot open it on my computor.
If you want to talk Barraud, just let me know.

I know also you like BARWISE take a look at this one I dug out today. The case is a full hunter, with the same number as the watch-faded though. The watch looks like new though and I would say it had plenty of use. I feel it is very early for a threee quarter plate, but it also fits into our tread about the STR, it is hallmarked

Dont know what the arrow on the case is?
    Regards,
    Allan.

    Hi Allan,

The case is by Joseph Dewin, but I haven't seen an arrow like that before. It may be something that the case maker used to mark the position of the joint for the jointer. The stud is unusual, and 1831 is fairly early to see screwed plates, (at least in plain watches as opposed to chronometers), but not so much for a 3/4 plate layout. Barwise did sell some good and up-to-the-minute clocks and watches.

It's a shame about the hour hand, but that seconds hand is the real thing; very fine.

    Regards,

    Graham

You uploaded it as an attachment so it needs to be downloaded and opened from the downloads folder. If a pdf file is published on the web, you may use the PDF /PDF tags to embed it and display it in-line in a post.

I started another thread on Barraud.

    View attachment R. ROSKELL Numbers..pdf
So this should be the Roskell file I made. PDF. This is not a document that I would publish in say the NAWCC there are probably to many faults with it, though I think it will help members to date their Roskell watches. Anyone who has a photograph of a Roskell they want adding to the lists, please get in touch. I can now go back to the ENGLISH TABLE ROLLER thread in the hope someone over the water as posted a early STR or ETR.
    Regards,
    Allan.
