Hello, I am new to the forums and this is my first post. I have a Ridgeway grandfather clock Model 207, Movement GW, Dial GP, Serial 82878.the suspension spring broke and I can seem to locate the appropriate replacement. I was told that the Urgos Grandfather clock suspension spring for 03 and 66 series was the correct one. When I attempted to place it in the clock, it was too wide for the suspension posts where the thumb screw is and I didn't want to force it. Also the pendulum leader didn't fit the spring either. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Robert

Welcome to the MB.

A good photo would help. Ridgeway didn't always use Urgos movements and Urgos GF movements use at least 4 very different springs.

Instead of trying to locate by mfg. numbers, try to compare to the original using those listed in this link:
If it is an earlier model Urgos suspension spring, it will be the 4th or 5th item in the listing. They only used two of that type.
If it is an Urgos movement manufactured by Hermle (later), you will have to measure and compare to the ones listed.
Length, thickness of suspension material, style.
Best of luck,
Dick
