Hey Team,

I recently purchased a Ridgeway Grandfather Clock and have been unable to identify what year it was made or if it's a unique model. It seems to be a midcentury modern style -- which is a little more on the rare side (from what I can ascertain). I've searched the model number, as well as the serial -- and nothing is coming up.

Any help/ thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Details:

Model — VV 318
Movement - E
Finish - peca
Serial #12305

Hello, ZABH.

(I received your private message as well but figured I would reply here).

Your clock is beautiful! Unfortunately, I'm not finding it in any of my catalogs. My catalogs are not fully inclusive, being from the years 1967, 1972, 1977, 1980 and 1997.

My 1977 catalog contains model numbers 304, 308, 314, 336, 337, 348, 350, 351 & 352. Several of these models have the basic "look" of yours, in other words, having rectangular cases and the mid-century modern "look." However, unfortunately, your model 318 is not included.

But I would estimate that your clock probably also dates from this same period, shortly before 1977, and that the model was no longer being offered by the time of the 1977 catalog. (My 1967 and 1972 catalogs only have model numbers in the 100s, as far as floor-standing clocks go).

Sorry I wasn't of more help.
Sincerely,
John
