• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Request for Ingraham Identification

I am trying to find any information on this clock which I purchased yesterday.
The movement is stamped E. INGRAHAM CO. along with some patent information and also "6" and "00" which I am guessing dates it to 1900.
I've found references to many similar Ingrahams but none with this particular scrolling and carving pattern. I'm hoping someone can identify it for me.

I will be disassembling the clock in the near future for a good cleaning which it definitely needs. Some bushings will be needed as well as a new suspension spring. The alarm mechanism is not workable - I may or may not try fixing it.

I've been following the message boards here for a few years now but this is my first post. I'm hoping my attached pictures actually get attached and that they can be viewed in their larger resolutions.

Any info on this clock would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the link, demoman. I'm finding lots of close but no cigar examples in my search. The closest I have come is a model called "Lily" but it doesen't have the intricate carving (or pressing/stamping) at the bottom.

A better look at the plate stamp.

I also realized that the plates are steel, not brass. Bummer.

Of course, with the SAW (April to August 1898), I would also include the Philippine Insurrection (aka Philippine-American War) from 1899 to 1902. Brass for the war efforts.

Hello Green19,

Not only are the plates steel, there are likely no brass bushings. That means the pivots are going to be in terrible shape.

Jim
Unfortunately, you are correct - three of the wheels have severely scored pivots. I'm going to forge ahead and try to make the repairs. This was a Craigslist clock which cost me next to nothing so it's not too upsetting.
