Removing Scratches from case

Anyone have suggestions for removing/reducing/minimizing case knife scratches from a gold filled case?

Unfortunately, there is not a lot of gold to be filing and sanding at. Anything you do to remove scratches will also remove the gold.

I saw a video a while back where they claimed that buffing will remove a minimum of material but rather move material around. Perhaps a better method that sanding or filing......

I used to do a lot of hand finishing of jewelry castings. Nobody does that these days. They toss it in a tumbler.

If it wasn't gold something i had suggest polishing with diamond paste. I got quite good results
