Regula 8 day winding anomaly

Some of the bigger Regula 8 day cases have Regula 34 movements where the time weight falls to the middle of the movement rather than the left when looking at it from the front. So visually when looking from the front it is winding chain weight winding chain weight, rather than weight winding chain winding chain weight.
i have a clock here with that setup. They do this to keep thw weights evenly spaced to the case and add a pulley on the strike side to space it even better.
My question is I have new Regula 34 movements, but they are the normal weight chain chain weight set up. How do you folks deal with this if you need to replace the movement? This movement is really not rebuildable because the post is bent and loose in the plate. So how can I make this time side drop in the center of the movement , or does it matter? Can I just put a normal 34 in. I've never seen a Regula 34 advertised with this discrepancy.

It appears that Blackforestimports has it both ways. I have had to make a new post on a clock before, not difficult with a lathe.

I'm probably not explaining myself well enough. (No sarcasm) this movement, when looking from the front, is wound from the furthest left chain for the time side. The time weight is not furthest most left coming off the movement, it is the second "chain" in.

Hey, Frank. I don't see how it could matter as long as the chains line up with the holes in the case.

It will turn the wrong way ...

This is not "abnormal", you just have to make sure you order the correct movement.

The 8 day movements have an extra gear. That makes them wind from the inside. That's also a good way to know if you have a 30 hour or an 8 day movement.

You're misunderstanding. There is a Regula 34 where the time winds from the outside. For Schneiders. I used a good used back plate.
