Does making new cases for old movements qualify for entry under latest acquisition?

Well, if you made it then it isn't an acquisition.

    Dickstorer,

Thanks for posting! Simply outstanding work- you seem to have quite a talent there. I only wish I had woodworking and brass working skills. My house would be FULL of clocks I had made... On second thought, there is the "wife" problem. She is lovely and tolerant, but only up to a point...

    Best to all,

    George

very nice. i have three ST 2s and a couple of 61A movements (one original, one repro... 30 teeth, beat seconds) with custom cases. i prefer brass beat indicators, but would be happy to hang yours on one of my walls... if i had any room left!

This is number VII, just got it finished and hung in my little shop. The wood is Lyptus, the movement is a repro ST 2. Number VIII is nearly completed. My wife asks why I make them and I do not know what to tell her.[IMG]

Oops, I made a mistake in my post number 16. It is not a a repro ST 2 movement, it is an old Keininger. Made in 1983.

    Re: :???:??

You have done some very beautiful work. However, just having five question marks in the heading is not helpful (yes, I know the first post was a question, but even so). Your work is well worth being looked at in the future but I am afraid that it will be very difficult to find unless it has a more helpful heading.

Would you consider asking a moderator to change it to something else, so that researchers in future days will be able to see what you have achieved?

Just my thoughts - and congratulations again on the results you have.

    JTD

    Re: :???:??

In my posts numbers 10 and 23, I mis spelled the name of Mr. Allan Wolff. Mr. Wolff was very helpful in making me the first dials with my name on them. Sorry for the mis-spelling Mr. Wolff and thanks again.
And, for the posts number 24 and 25, I do not know how to contact a moderator.

Here is an old Bigelow & Kennard (Waltham) movement, dial and pendulum I made a new mahogany case for. Still need to find a calendar hand to match the second hand. Also need to find a large flat wire gong for it.
