I think I found a use for those pesky rathbun bushing we all have taken off movements and stuck in a drawer. I use them for a tiny but useful wall stabilizer on heavy door wall clocks. What do you think? DSCN0549.jpg

DL, there is a good reason clock repairmen never throw anything away . Good use for an otherwise piece of scrap metal.

I had got the impression that Rathburns were a historical "thing from the past", from "less enlightened" days, and were no longer used, but when I typed "Rathburn Bushings" into Google, it seems that a well known American clock company sold a pack of Rathburns on e-bay just last week. They are obviously still going strong! So, if you need some for those difficult wall stabiliser situations, I can tell you where to get them.

Cheers
