Hello all! I hope you like My new (to me) Brass French Clock and Identify what I need to replace the missing parts. I found it in Columbia PA near the NAWCC headquarters. I believed it was late 1800's by the movement and the pins holding it together when I decided to buy it.
I found '3579' stamped into the back of the movement. I have not removed the movement yet to see if there is anything on the front plate. Hidden behind the bell was a Stamp for Raison & Thomas Successeurs (1890) . A quick Web search found One Identical Clock: https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/19th-c-french-raison-thomas-mantle-clock-250-c-a394d4589c# and one similar clock: Large Antique French Bronze Clock Raison and Thomas
This is a Beauty. 21 lbs. 21" tall. It was missing the pendulum bob and nut, but I have the Rod that is 9" (222mm) long that has the square french style hook.
Can anyone tell me what threads it's likely to have? the Rod is 2.5mm and the threads are very fine. I see 3-48 and 4-40 listed in Timesavers. What size bob should it use? Timesavers has 3 French assemblies that I could use / rob for parts: 1-1/2" (3oz), 1-3/8 (2.5oz), 1-1/4 (2.0 oz).
