Hi would like some help identifying this clock dial and movement. I think I have spelling correct from dial but maybe it is Cellatly and not Gellatly? The Movement does not have any maker marks that I have found so far. The dial plate has name "Fletcher".

    thanks for your help, Joe

This is a link to an Edinburgh Street directory for 1855/6. https://deriv.nls.uk/dcn23/8311/83111590.23.pdf

It contains an entry for a Robert Gellatly watch and clock maker of Princes Street (the main shopping street) Edinburgh.

This seems likely to be your man.

That seems to be correct then, and somewhere around mid 19th century not unreasonable I think. Although listed as a clockmaker dial clock movements were generally bought in.

Nice drop dial clock. It is most likely John Wright Fletcher who is listed as dialmaker in Birmingham 1840-51 and mid 19th C does look about right.

Some further information about Robert Gellatly from genealogical sources.
He was born about 1826 in Edinburgh. Father was a millwright from Perthshire.
Died in 1884. Buried in the Dean Cemetery.
