Re: Post Your Gebrüder Resch clocks here.new today!

Even worse - they were trying to bid me down, due to issues it has (broken spring gong, needing a service).
Last guy said that because there are few holes in the wooden case ( probably from a wormwood), he wouldn't pay more than 130eur...
Unfortunately, market for these watches here in Serbia is very small and even top-notchm significantly more popular Gustav Beker with weights go for 240-250 EUR nowadays (2-3 years ago they sold occassionaly for 350-450eur)
I know an ethusiast who has at least 20 of them at this moment for sale and few other in his personal collection.
So, thank you very much for your input!

I really appreciate all the info.
Now I really do know enough to appreciate this old wall clock. In any case, my wife said it' had very soothing, almost therapeutic sound
Regarding its value, I do agree with you, mr Heli. As my late professor of "stockmarket 101" course always said, real price of some item is the one seller would be willing to pay if he was a buyer, and buyer would be willing to sell for, if he was selling it.
So, for the moment, I'll try to get it serviced, gong replaced and then enjoy it few more years, unless some really great "offer I can't refuse" comes along.
In any case, I also have one rather rare and historically significant 1969. Omega wrist watch, to satisfy my need to learn more about this nice mechanisms
