Position correct roller table Omega 161 cal

Hello my friends I remove balance of my Omega to change staff broken. But I see the roller is a litle right direction like you see in photo. Can you sai if is the correct position or the best is where I put the green line? Thanks

It’s the relation between the hairspring collet and roller jewel positions that matters for beat error. The roller jewel position in relation to the balance wheel matters only for posing issues. It’s impossible to say which position the roller table should have without knowing how it was sitting before you took it off. It’s possible someone before you installed it in a position other than factory standard and adjusted the poise to that position. Did you take a picture of the position before removing it?

I think the position you’ve marked green is the standard from factory but as I mentioned above could very well have been altered by someone before you.

I try to position the roller in the same direction as I took it off. You can sometimes find a small mark in the balance wheel made by previous repair persons, indicating the direction. The idea is that if you install the roller table in the same direction you don't have to poise the balance afterwards. Just align the hairspring to give you a low beat error and try it in vrious positions. Hopefully it will show the same deviation and you can adjust the time with the regulator.

If the difference in various positions is too big you might want to consider poising the balance.

As I mentioned in my previous post, the position of the roller is only comparable by beat error if you haven't moved the hairspring. The relation between roller and balance can only be judged by delta in adjusting to position. If the watch was adjusted to a certain roller position, the watch will no longer have good time keeping between positions if the roller is moved.
So adjust the beat error by moving the hairspring collet on the staff but if the watch has a big delta in the vertical positions after doing so, it might be worthwile moving the roller to factory position before attempting to dynamically poise the balance. You may end up just undoing someone elses work otherwise.

Dewey C has a good document on dynamic poising and how to adress issues in that area that I recommend reading. I think it will clarify things for you.
