My source, based on trade directories, lists the following for John Bowen:

    1808 143 Longacre
    1822 (Bowen & Holt) 2 Titchbourne Street
    1841 2 Titchbourne Street
    1856 3 Coventry Street
    1882 20 Brewer Street

It seems pretty obvious that between 1808 and 1822 John Bowen partnered with Holt, and by 1841 that partnership has been dissolved.

All of these entries were in the watchmaker sections of the directories, and John Bowen is identified also as a goldsmith and chronometer maker (in the 1856 directory).

By the way, a Thomas Bowen is listed in 1808 at 6 Charing Cross Road, and a Samuel Bowen in 1882 in St Martins Lane.

My guess (based on the shape and size of the balance cock) is that your watch dates to between 1810 and 1830.
