I just won this movement on eBay. I could not find an exact match back plate from RG. The closest back plate number is plate 1419. But the movement back plate does not have Made in Germany, and two small dots. I hope someone can help to ID and date it. Thank you in advance.

Thank you Erik for the identification and dating. In deed, it is Backplate # 1607. Who is Umpire, a distributor?

More than likely an importer.

Since there is not much activity here at 400 day clock forum, I am showing a few photos of my Philippe Hauck marriage clock. The length of pallets and acentric has been corrected. It is running now.

Ming -

Very nice! This is the first we're seeing of the whole clock. Now that is something you don't see every day!!

Looks a little tricky to remove/replace that dome. Never seen one.

I thought so, too, but then I thought doesn't it just slide straight up? More awkward than usual, but easily doable.

Sure it slides strait up if you have gecko grip fingers. :)

Was thinking having to navigate your hands around the top level.

Ming and all this is most likely a dealer/distributor/importer, possibly with ties to Hauck as this name doesn't show up on any other maker's database of this period. From mid-1908 to mid-1911 I have over a dozen Hauck clocks documented with this name on the dial.

This Hauck has a GB pendulum
Yes, I used a made over base and GB pendulum because I did not have a correct base and pendulum. I only purchased the Ph. Hauck movement. At this point, I only want the clock to work. And it runs very well and keep excellent time using 0.004” S.S. and GB pendulum. Of course, I had to adjust the S.S. length to bring it to time range. Ph. Hauck made very good clock movement. I am very happy with the movement, even the pallet length and eccentric needed to be corrected.

Ah, I see that the pendulum adjustment weights are all the way in. This suggests that the suspension spring should be thicker than 0.004". Unfortunately, the next size up is 0.0045" so some sanding would have been required.

I appreciate all like the pendulum. I hope the marble disk will not change diameter when room temperature changes. today, the room temperature changed 2 degree F, the time keeping did not have noticeable change.
