    Hi all.
All I have to identify this clock are the photos attached here. I can not read what's stamped on the back of the movement and the dial does not say the name of the clock maker.
I would appreciate your help to identify it and approximate date of manufacture?
    Thanks,

    Carlos

    Hi,
You have a lovely late 19th century French cartel style clock, circa 1880. Possibly a Japy Frères movement, but we would need a close up of the stamp.
    Regards.

Nice French clock with pretty decoration to the Boulle style case, the movement has two marks so they should provide the answer to who made it. To get a better picture you may need to remove the movement from the case which is relatively easy. Remove the pendulum and place the clock face down and unscrew the screws in the back bezel and it it should then pull out from the front.

The left, upper mark on the back plate (in the oval) might be C.H., Paris, perhaps Charles Hour. I can't make anything out from the lower mark, which almost appears to have been blanked out.

    Thanks all for chiming in.
I have a post on the section "What is this clock worth". I hope you go there and snare what you think a fair price is.
    Thanks again,

    Carlos

Steven, looking at the back plate more closely, it is a C. H. Paris.
Maybe you may want to reply on my post of this clock in the section What is this clock worth.
    Thanks,
    Carlos
