I need a replacement for the pinwheel and gear assembly for Waterbury Regulator #8. My unit appears to have a slight bend near the tip (that supports the sweep second hand) that produces friction so the movement will not run.

I would think it could be straightened easier than looking for another movement. Bob

I agree, it should be able to be straightened.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I did smooth the tip using 2000-grit dry paper and straightened as best I could using a gentle grip with a needle-nose pliers. The tip surface also showed pitting as if rusted in the past. The sanding took this down adding to the smoothness. The clock has been running now for several months.
