• We are aware of the performance issues with the forum. These are due to problems with Comcast's shared lines in the Columbia, PA area. On December 15, we signed a contract to bring a dedicated fiber line to the forum servers. It should take somewhere between 30 and 90 days to install. Thank you for your patience.

The Hauck that I purchased at Birmingham clock fair is all cleaned now and running just need to regulate it, very pleased with finished clock.
I must say setting the beat is a breeze on it, just a screw on the gimbal and plenty to hold and turn.

Thanks both
I am using the original torsion spring it doesn’t look like a Horolovar spring and the book said .0038 and I hadn’t got one only .0037 or .0040 so I have kept the original as it wasn’t damaged, but an .0038 seems a bit light to me but I have ordered some.

Very elegant clock, Dells - nicely done! That pendulum is exquisite.

The 3-ball pendulum comes in two sizes as can be seen in the picture below. The one on the left has ball size of 3.25 cm in diameter while the one on the right has ball size measuring 3.08 cm in diameter. Lookinig at the picture posted by Dells above the pendulum appears to be of the larger one.

I must admit when I purchased the clock and picked up the pendulum it was a shock how heavy it was, that’s why I questioned the book saying use .0038 suspension spring, as Mun is saying there are two different sizes there must be two different size suspension springs.
Anyway the clock gained 30 minutes overnight set to full fast so it should be possible to get time set using original spring.
