Forgive me if I've missed discussion on this subject before, I did do quick search before starting this thread.
I was at a chapter meeting today, and came across a 16s Philadelphia tutone gold filled case. The bezel and back were white engraved gold filled , while the frame was yellow gold filled. I checked, and the serial number on the case back and the frame matched. Anyone ever seen such a case before?
I don't have pictures, as I didn't make the purchase.

Yes, I have owned a few and seen a bunch more over the years I have been collecting. Many of them have multi-colored gold on the lids. They are nice cases. To me they are certainly not rare and probably not all that scarce but not something you see every day.

    Thanks John,
I haven't been collecting for long, and this is the first I've seen. I do regret not making the purchase, as it was a nice looking case.

I am getting to be old and my memory is not as god as it once was but I think the design I see most on these cases involves little birds etc.

The one I saw just had art deco type engraved decoration around the bezel, and the same decoration around the perimeter of the case back, otherwise, it was fairly plain.

That case is nickel. At least the body of it is.

Other case makers did this also, if you do a search for Platold you will find the same configuration, the case ring is gold filled but the bezel and back are nickel/silveroid. I have two one by Philly and seems one is by Wadsworth.

Well, the body is a gold color, so I suspect it's gold-filled. The bezel and back cover are Silverode, not white gold-filled, as I mis-remembered (is that a word?).

I didn't mean the ring. I meant the bulk of the case (the lids, as you put it).

Well, the back is marked Silverode, which is nickel.

Here's a thread on the Wadsworth "Platold" cases ...

    https://mb.nawcc.org/showthread.php?4874

Looks like what you picked up was Keystone's version of the same thing.

I like these things especially when in nice conditon and I think they're a little underappreciated by most collectors.
