I received my PH&S cottage clock yesterday and it was a complete mess. Case falling apart and the glass was taped in but worst of all it looked like someone spraypainted it. So I had to do what I swore I never would do. I said a prayer to the Clock Gods for forgiveness and started sanding. I'm taking it down to the bare wood and re-stain it with Black Walnut and redo the gold trim on the door and lower base.. On a positive note I pulled the works and put them on a test board and after straightening the crutch and suspension spring the works came back to life after a bit of tweeking.. The clock to me looks like an early PH&S as there is no rabbit and maybe someone more knowledgeable than me could give an approximate date.. Chris..
