Looking for details on known methods they used to assemble oak mantle cases - glue only ? dowel's w/glue ? brass screws ? This case has a replaced movement & dial (Waterbury). It's well made and fairly large at 171/2" wide and 131/4" tall. I'm thinking it's possibly a Pequegnat case - it has all three of the construction Technics mentioned above.

Thanks Ron, Skip's site has good photos of the inside of cases, showing the robust construction of Pequegnat clocks. Searching is half the enjoyment - German is a possibility ? It's form is very American, but I've seen nothing in U.S. makers with the size, materials & techniques.
