I have transplanted a movement for a Linden #7012 mantel clock into this craft store made clock case from a flea market. I removed one if the strike rods to just have a single ding, thats why only one is heard in this attached video short. But the strike function became intermittent. I disassembled the movement & it seemed that a plastic lever was worn where it rides a cam wheel to operate the strike hammer. So i heated the end with a match & bent it in a bit. The clock now strikes faithfully, but in disassembling, a small pin about .056" x1/4" got lost. I made one out of a small nail and the clock works ok for now, but I need the proper smooth tiny pin because my temporary one will eventually gall the plastic no doubt. It is a pivot for a gear operating the minute hand. I also broke a wire on the little field coil for the clock motor and that was very hard to resolder, i couldnt seem to scrape off the insulation varnish but dipped the end in metal cleaning acid & finally the solder stuck to it. But might anyone have an old broken movement for a Linden #7012 clock that would have good metal shafts? Jeff Whicker, Toledo Ohio
