Hello. I will get some pics of the case tonight. ThanksI remembered that the above patent came up earlier this year in regard to a clock with a signed H.J. Davies movement. Davies became General Manager of Ansonia in January 1877.

Hi willie. From reading these threads and getting information from you guys I start to notice or think I notice stuff.,I'm curious as to 'why' you would think it is a replacement?? Willie X
Ansonia Brass and Copper Co. was in business from 1869 to 1877. I can see no reason, from these pictures, to doubt that the movement is original to the clock case. In January 1877, the Ansonia Brass and Copper Co. was consolidated into the (second) Ansonia Clock Co., of which H.J. Davies was the General Manager. Here is the case and dial with hands

Correction. I mistyped a date in the above statement. January 1877 should be January 1878, when the second Ansonia Clock Co. officially began business.Ansonia Brass and Copper Co. was in business from 1869 to 1877.
