Earlier this week, I obtained an antique tower/turret clock dial, hands and motion works. The woman who sold it had recently purchased a large house and found it stored in the basement. The home's previous owner only said that it had been shipped from France. The dial is approx. 44" (112 cm) in diameter. The dial appears to be porcelain on a metal pan surrounded by a zinc (?) bezel surround on a wood base. Photos follow. Do the distinctive hands and ball shaped nut securing the hands to the motion works provide any clues to its origin? Does the motion works offer any clues? Any information is appreciated.
