• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

I picked up a 1950 Omega Caliber 430 automatic with a couple of minor issues inside, but in all a very nicely kept watch. an issue that surprises me is that I have a broken mainspring...okay, the broken mainspring is not usually a typical issue, but when you can't seem to find one or find someone with 430 caliber parts, then it becomes an issue.

any have some history on the 430 movement? was it a desirable movement, hard to work on, didn't sell well, etc.? someone tell me more, especially if there are similar caliber's I coudl possible sources parts from

It really is, the automatic click has a chip in it and the mainspring g is broken, but besides that, it's great. I'm just not finding a lot of info on this particular model, even in a lot of "comprehensive lists of omega calibers"

based on the parts link sent by EscapeWheel, does this mean that a caliber 330 has some interchangeable parts....namely the mainspring, barrel, etc. regardless of the fact that it is a bumper automatic versus a rotor?

thanks for your help roughbarked ! I'm really interested if anyone has recommended books or some history of the caliber progression in Omega's company.

this is so awesome...it also explains why finding part sources are an issue. the owner will be very pleased to learn they have a unique watch. They only paid $70 for it.
EscapeWheel thank you so much for the link to the other forum. I'm really getting into the resource of knowledge through NAWCC forums and it is so awesome

Though I would have replaced the crown. To my eye, it looks as if you didn't.

From the first photo of the watch on your arm, are you related to roughbarked? ;)
it's just been a while since I've used lotion on my skin! That crown came to me with the watch and the owner did not want it replaced.
