Found this old ships bell clock on ebay and was surprised that the movement was quite different from the later models of ships bell clocks. The chiming set up for the wheels was a little different from the other models in that the start point on the pin wheel was one section moved over. Great old find.

Yeah, basically a count wheel design. A little earlier than many. The short pins on the lift wheel are interesting. It would be cool to see it striking a few times. Definitely a better design than some of their later ones.
