Old Ingraham Case Restoration

I'm trying to restore an old Ingram black clock. I found some "clamps" to hold the top to the case; I'm not sure whether it's an old repair or original. see picks.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they are original. Most clock cases with a separate top have wood blocks where your angle brackets are to secure the top; usually with two screws. I don't see any evidence, in your pictures, that any other method was used to secure the top to the case.
