Found this at a yard sale. It’s a Seth Thomas - but can’t seem to locate on line it online. First, it’s huge. But the movement isn’t an 89 or similar. The plates are round - not square. Also, it’s not Westminster chime - standard gong. The glass on the bezel is beveled. The color of the case seems off to me as well. Doesn’t look refinished but who knows?

We'll need to see the movement. Most likely it is either the round 8 day movement they used in their crystal regulators, or their high grade 14-day movement. Most likely will strike on their "Bell-metal" gong, which has good resonance and sound.

Upon close inspection, clock was refinished. I measured it - it’s huge 29” long & 12” high. No markings on the back of the movement I can see. No stickers on clock anywhere. Movement was overhauled in 2008 apparently.

The springs are in barrels & it looks like you can replace the springs without separating the plate. Whatever movement this is it’s almost silent.

Seems like most ST clocks like this I see online approaching this size are Westminster chimes - but have yet to see one anywhere near 29” long. Maybe I just haven’t looked enough

It looks exactly like a New Haven round movement that they used in their crystal regulators. I don't see a name on the dial (Seth Thomas always put their name on their clocks), so I'm going to say that New Haven is the manufacturer of this clock instead of Seth Thomas.

It should run for an 8 day duration.

Maybe I’m loosing my mind. I swore it said ST on the dial, but looking after your post it does not. Maybe I got confused because the seller I got it from had other clocks I was considering with ST on the dial? I’ll search New Haven thanks.

Whatever it it, the movement is very quiet
