Re: Watch Parts Wanted

Hello.... I need an escape wheel for a (model 1892 ) 18s Waltham 845 21j movement, series 2. Anyone have a parts movement? Also a case screw. I have tried most of the suppliers suggested with no luck..... Thanks! Sorry if this is posted multiple times. Not sure how the 'thread' thing works, I seem to put it in the wrong place each time.

Re: Watch Parts Wanted

Topsy,

If I remember correctly, the escape wheel on the grade 845 is not a cap jewel, so the arbor would be a cylindrical arbor. Be advised--throughout the life of the model 92, Waltham constantly changed the specs and design of the watch. Cosmetically, it might look the same, but parts, pivot arbors, and pivot sizes were different.

Your best bet is to contact Jim Schneider, who has the model 92 website, and is the model 92 guru. He is a trained watchmaker and can best help you match up an escape wheel for your watch.

Ball 16s bow

I have a ball case /ball 16 PW that is supposed to have that standard bow. Anyone have a spare or know where I might find one? The bow pictured is incorrect.
Thanks

Landeron 51 Chronograph Part Needed.

I need the eccentric for the pivoted detent (see photo), for this chronograph. I have already verified that this eccentric is NOT interchangeable with the Landeron 48. Anyone have one in your parts stash?

Re: R.W Sears or Sears Roebuck & Co. Watches

rosestaples,
Thanks for posting on the NAWCC message board. Without a picture I cannot say with any certainly, so post a picture of the movement for a qualified answer

.If it says Swiss it is likely a reproduction or knock off of the Sears brand.

This thread is dealing with original R. W. Sears or Sears Roebuck & Co. watches produced in the US from about 1886 to 1920.

Thanks

Re: Watch Parts Wanted

It would be beneficial if we could develop some kind of flow chart for eubache parts.

example:

Eubache factory A made parts 1,2 and 3 during years (nnnn to nnnn).

----------------------------

Brand A used parts 1 and 2 on models ### during years (nnnn to nnnn).
Brand B used parts 1,2 and 3 on models ### during years (nnnn to nnnn).
Brand C used parts 1 and 2 on models ### during years (nnnn to nnnn).

This kind of flow chart would be very useful in acquiring parts as my current understanding is many eubache parts are interchangeable across brands.

Is this correct?

Hi RJ,

The old "Bestfit Encyclopedia of Watch Materials" books should help you here, if you can find a set.

Re: verge watch parts needed

Hello All,

I recently purchases Raymond Weil 2838-STC-00659 . I am sure like many others I actually believe the hands on the RW watches were a vibrant blue. After doing some research about the Caliber RW 4250, I found it is essentially a clone of the Selita SW200 or ETA 2836-1.

What I need help with is finding new hands for this watch that are actually BLUE! If anyone has experience with this model watch or knows where I can purchase watch after market watch hands for this model I would greatly appreciate it.

I do love the RW styling but even they have to admit, that all the pictures on their website falsely advertise the color of the blue.

Thank you to everyone who helps out and replies, I appreciate all the assistance I can get.

Re: verge watch parts needed

Looking for a fourth wheel and a bottom balance jewel for a 16/s, 7J Hampden Champion model 1, ser number 1135722.

That, or a parts movement of the same model number. The 3,4 and 5 models won't work.

Thanks,
Scott

It looks like it comes in either a single or double roller. The single roller is p/n 47606 and is available at dashto.org and the double roller is p/n 47607.

Pallet for '92

I need a pallet for a model '92 17J Waltham. I had a parts movement but the pivot is broke on it also and I hate to have to spend 80 dollars for another parts movement just to get a pallet.

Any help appreciated.

Re: Pallet for '92

Hi Daniel, I've said this on the board before. My experience and the experience of others is that not every part from a model 92 will fit another. Throughout the life of the movement, Waltham played with the specs and mechanisms on the watch. The top plate might look near the same, but they changed the mainspring barrel, the hairspring stud, the setting mechanism, and many other things. They also altered the pivot sizes of all the under plate parts, including the palate fork.

This said--You could order a part or buy a scrap movement, and there is no guarantee the pivot will fit. These are a bear to get the right parts for.

I have a 21J Vanguard and a 21J Crescent St, both torn down. I've been looking for the right parts for over 20 years with little success.

You stand the best chance if you get a scrap movement with an SN close to your watch.

Good luck.

I've got a pallet from a 21j Grade 845, but I'm not sure if they're compatible.

Re: Pallet for '92

I need a return spring for an American Waltham Watch (serial number 614605). I don't know the exact name of the part, but it's the C-shaped return clip for the winding / setting stem. I lost the original. The watch itself was not winding as the clutch wouldn't engage. Thanks!

Re: Pallet for '92

Are you sure the serial number is correct ? That number is for a 1857 18 size key wind watch.

Re: Crescent St. Washer

Another good source is Tom Mister of Dashto Horological.
Unless something has changed at Dashto (which is very possible), I think you'll find that Tom is a great source of American PW parts like jewels, staffs, mainsprings and crystals, but not other individual parts like the washer that willyrover is looking for.

Unfortunately the movement is unsigned.

Re: Swiss Pocket Watch Crown Wheel

Looking for a mainspring, 2206 or equivalent, and the small winding gear on the mainspring barrel for a Model 1870 Waltham Crescent St KW/KS from the back. this originally had the stop works but it is gone, don't know if it is needed for the watch to work.

Re: Watch Parts Wanted

A different site lists the JA704 as the 2222 1892 mainspring, not for an 1870. Wonder if they are close enough to use. The barrel is fairly narrow on the KW 1870.
