Re: Watch Parts Wanted
Without wishing to appear both repetitive and monotonous, I wish to further add to my comments vis a vis the Incabloc shockproof upper jewel sytem on my cal. 2135 Rolex datejust wristwatch.
After further scrutinisation of various movements, I have found a couple of cal. 485 Omega movements that appear to contain exactly the same shockproof system, ie measurements and retaining springs appear to be identical to the Rolex cal. 2135. Both these movements are in full working order complete with hands, winding stems and buttons. Therefore, before cannibalising them for the unit, I would be grateful for confirmation that they are exactly the same.
Secondly, I do not possess any type of press device for extracting the units or for resetting them and will be reliant on carefully pushing them out of the Omega with a handmade wooden tool and the same with inserting them into the Rolex calibre 2135. Obviously, I have already detached the balance platform from the staff, roller, hairspring. I would therefore be grateful for not only confirmation that the aforementioned two calibres are interchangeable, but that as a fairly skilled watch restorer, I should be able to complete the changeover without incurring any damage with the tools at my disposal.
I thank you in advance for any help other subscribers may be able to afford me in this matter. I would also be grateful if , in the opinion of a moderator, these questions would be better served in another section of this website, he/she would be kind enough to transfer it to the appropriate thread.
