A guy who must have bought 8 or more clocks off me now asked I could look at this Welsh school clock, Junghans going by the mark. I have had it running now for 2 days, longest its ran for a few years as I understand it.
I had to adjust the pallet height as it would run a few minutes then snag. I think the springf is a bit weak but id like to avoid replacing that unless I have to.

Just thought it may interest the Junghan fan boys and girls out there!

this Welsh school clock, Junghans going by the mark.
Although this clock may have hung in a Welsh schoolroom, I believe the clock was made by Junghans for the French market.

If you provide a clear picture of the complete back of the movement (especially around the trademark), we may be able to date the clock.

Regards.

I have attached a few more pics showing the Junghans mark and some other markings I found. The case is... a bit different. This came from a school i believe dates from late 1800s that closed in the 1950's. Or so I understand. This clock used to adorn the reception but the current owner has never had it running.

Based on the trademark and the lack of a date code, the clock was manufactured by Junghans between 1891 (when that Junghans trademark was registered) and 1901 (when Junghans commenced date coding their movements).

The way the case opens is typical of some French wall clocks and the name on the dial is surely the retailer. Probably the last thing I'd call it is a Welsh school clock.
