This was our last stop for today while vacationing in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. The back door was open which allowed viewing the motor and mechanism of this huge Floral clock. The historic photos of previous years are inside this small building as well. I’d be curious to know how many other NAWCC members have seen this clock since 1950? I've seen it a few times over the years, it's kinda cool. I wasn't a NAWCC member when I saw it, and didn't really have an engaged interest in clocks then. But obviously the interest was inherent as it was always a destination when we were there.

Is it worth havinga sepafate thread for floral clocks?
I have just found an interesting article, in the New York Times Jan 29 2015
It is about a floral clock where the flowers themselves tell the time, it has no hands

Most don't know that long ago NAWCC was going to build a floral clock on the sloping corner property opposite the museum. We owned the corner lot but it never got built, probably because we realized we couldn't afford the cost to maintain (a.k.a. weed) it. We eventually sold the lot and now there's a condo on it.

Incidentally, in going through all the motions on record prior to the NAWCC / MW&CM merger (I was part of the merger task force) we found that there was an approved motion from the 1960s naming the "Four O'Clock" as the official flower of the Association! When I saw that I thought that we should make the official insect of the NAWCC the tick!:)

We were there in the late fall of 2007. What a great time to go, no crowds. 181.JPG You have to experience the falls from the Maid of the Mist!
